In the beginning…
The Kienberg Edit is an invitation. A first opening — not on completion of construction, but right in the heart of it. Two listed heritage buildings, a new barn, and surrounding it: craftsmanship and transformation. Those who visit don't experience a finished work, but the process itself. Building site included. Closer to the creation of a place than you've ever experienced. Forest air. Craftsmen's voices. Light filtering through trees. Limited. Real. Calm Mind. Wild Heart.

The Kienberg Edit. A place in the making.
The Kienberg Edit is a place in the making. Those who visit now experience genuine encounters: craftsmanship, nature, raw and refined. Forest air and craftsmen's voices are part of the story. A rare moment for those who understand: authenticity needs no perfection.
In 2029, The Kienberg Edit becomes Forst Kienberg. A retreat that grounds and inspires: rugged yet cultivated. Luxury reimagined — time to simply be, connected to nature and to yourself. Calm mind. Wild heart.
A place that keeps evolving stays agile, curious, open. And that's exactly what makes it so special.
Now Open

The Hammerherrenhaus, the barn and, in due course, the Achterhaus. Historic walls meet contemporary design. Each house tells of its past and becomes a space for new encounters. Raw and refined all at once. Heritage protection and authenticity, not just styling. Architecture by BWM Architects. And the surroundings? A place in the making. Tools, craftsmen, construction on display— this is integral to this first phase. Not a shortcoming. Strength.
A Place in the Making

Not perfect. But honest.
A destination coming into being — with everything that this entails. The sound of craftsmen and the silence of the forest. Dust and light. Historic heritage alongside new architecture. The Kienberg Edit defines this reality not as a compromise but as the story itself — it becomes the story. Curated access to a place while it evolves, and is awakened. Not despite a building site —but because of it.
1: First access
Even before the completion of the project, there is The Kienberg Edit: exclusive access. Not a finished product, but a moment in time. For guests who understand that authenticity can also mean a work in progress.
2: Hammerherrenhaus & Achterhaus
The Hammerherrenhaus is a listed heritage building; the Achterhaus is also a historic structure — distinct and full of character. Architecture and interiors by BWM Architects. 16 rooms. Fully restored. Bookable exclusively as a whole, not as individual rooms. Space for a group, a family, a shared experience. Windows open. Exhale.
3: What's happening in the surroundings
The estate is currently an active building site. We say this openly — work is under way all around: with the sound of craftsmanship, with dust in the sunlight, with progress visible. Forest air and craftsmen's voices. And that's exactly what makes this phase special. Not despite this reality, but because of it.
4: Why it has its own name
The Kienberg Edit gives this phase a name of its own. Not to apologise, but to tell a story. A logic of its own. Not: "We're sorry the building work is still under way." But: "This is the story of this moment." Calm Mind. Wild Heart.
5: What the stay will feel like
An entire house to yourselves. Windows looking out onto a place that is evolving. Those who visit now aren't booking perfection — they're booking a rare moment of integrity. The sound of craetion. The power of the process. Restraint instead of excess. Time for yourself.
6: What comes next
Step by step, a place evolves. New structures will emerge. The Gießerei will become a restaurant and spa. Those who experience The Kienberg Edit are part of the first chapter of this story — of its making, its craftsmanship, its authenticity. In 2029, The Kienberg Edit becomes Forst Kienberg.

Stay Experience

The Hammerherrenhaus and the Achterhaus each stand in their own right — both tell of their history, both lovingly restored. Together they offer space for a group, a family, a celebration. 16 rooms. Every detail considered. Windows open. Breathe deeply. Space instead of distraction. And then the place itself: forest air and craftsmen's voices in the morning, stillness in the evening. This isn't a backdrop — it's part of the experience. Those who stay here aren't booking something wanting — they're booking a moment. Being part of the process.
The barn

The barn is a new building. Contemporary and spacious. A space for celebrations, yoga, workshops and encounters — all whilst the surroundings evolve. Those who celebrate here are celebrating a work in progress. By day, the rhythm of craft; by night, the stillness of the forest. That is authenticity. And that's exactly what makes this moment special. Raw. And refined.
